Dear Friends

It's amazing to think that five years ago the idea for Ka-Ching! was borne. Of the many experiences during this time, the one that stands out is the notion of perseverance. Sometimes it is difficult to stay focused, but if like me you are lucky enough to be surrounded by supportive family and friends, as I am, be very thankful! As I am!

May highlights include:

- We became a preferred retail partner for one of South Africa's leading financial services companies Momentum. This new partnership involves Momentum's Save Thru Spend | Multiply model where Momentum members receive a 20% rebate when investing in the Ka-Ching! Business Parenting course. - The Sunday Times ran a fantastic story on 6th May in the It's My Business supplement. The article covered the amazing story of five young entrepreneurs at Bishops Prep School in Cape Town. The co-author of Ka-Ching! Midge Hilton-Green, together with these five incredible young men were interviewed for both the newspaper article and TV. Read the PDF version here. - Mount Vernon Presbyterian School in Atlanta USA is running a week-long Ka-Ching! Entrepreneurship course. The week has only just started, but the feedback from Kelly Hilton-Green is that the kids are 'extremely excited'. Kelly is getting the kids to start and run a real business following our structure. - We are very happy to be awarding Broadhurst Primary's budding young businessmen with their first Ka-Ching! Bronze certificates for the entrepreneurs club they started less than 4 months ago! Comment on this story on the Ka-Ching! Blog.

- The imminent announcement of introducing Ka-Ching! at one of South Africa's leading primary schools is just around the corner....watch this space!

- While we will never lose sight of our original focus of encouraging parents to play a more active role in their children's education, the Ka-Ching! at Schools programme is receiving tremendous interest. After developing the comprehensive Ka-Ching! Teacher's Guide we are now able to use it at schools. By involving parents in homework exercises, learners have even greater chance of learning vital financial awareness and business skills.

Case study REPEAT:"Lee-Ann and Craig were very excited about starting their first business at home. As brother and sister they agreed they would make a strong team.

Together with the folks, they had great fun chatting, eating pizza and brainstorming what types of businesses would work in their area. These informal business meetings become great fun! Their parents helped guide the process and managed to make it exciting. The budding entrepreneurs held weekly meetings to plan the launch of 'Suzy's Saucy Salad Dressing', and were extremely excited at the prospect of receiving all that money from selling salad dressing to their school friends and relatives.

However, when the parents explained again that they would have to pay for the ingredients, and rent for using the kitchen facilities, the profit wasn't as much as they thought.
